Step 6: Trim disk drive door.

Overview

This section covers disassembling the top shell in preparation for making the shell cutout.

Tools

  • Philips head #0 screwdriver

  • Knife or flush cutters

Step 6.1       Remove vertical stand plate

  • Remove the vertical stand screw plate.

Step 6.2       Remove door bracket screws

  • Remove the two screws holding the door brackets.

Step 6.3       Remove door brackets

  • Lift the two metal door brackets out.

Step 6.4       Remove door

  • Open the door like shown.

  • Slide the door sideways to the right.

  • The door should release and lift out.

Step 6.5       Remove door spring

  • Remove the door spring from its recess.
